“You think you are the painter, but you’re the canvas.” -John Green
When I began working on the line Resilient in May, it held a different title. I was studying Doctor Gary Chapman’s book The Five Love Languages, and as the concept for my line, it shared the same title. The novel focuses on the psychological aspects of marriage, that people will show love in the ways they like to receive it. Not all partners will share the same primary love languages as their spouses. This explains how even though a partner may try their best to express love to their spouse, the other may still feel unsatisfied or conflicts may remain unresolved.
